Watercolour Activity Kit - Instructional Video

Our Roots Across Time Kits were developed for Métis families in collaboration with the Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) team of the Métis Nation of Ontario. These watercolor activities invite children and caregivers to reflect on relationships with family, community, land, and history through shared creative experiences. Designed to be explored together at home, the kits encourage connection, conversation, and meaningful moments across generations.

Dot Art Kits for the Classroom

Dot Art Kits for the Classroom are a fun, visual art project inspired by the dots, patterns, and aesthetic found in Métis beadwork. Designed with educators in mind, each kit includes four cut outs, paint strips, paper, and all the tools needed to explore dot art techniques. Curriculum connections are built into the lesson, with instructional videos available in both French and English for added classroom support. The project can be completed in one sitting or extended over several lessons, making it flexible, engaging, and easy to adapt for different learning environments. $10.00 per student kit

Brooke Wiens is a Metis educator and emerging artist with roots in Alberta and Metis heritage from Manitoba and Saskatchewan. She holds a Bachelor of Education in Music Specialist from the University of Alberta and a Master of Education from Brock University, and currently teaches Grade 4/5 in the Niagara Region.
While in San Francisco, Brooke actively explored art and design alongside her husband, Michael Wiens, as he completed his Master of Fine Arts at the Academy of Art. This experience inspired her own artistic journey and informs the engaging classroom resources and art kits she now creates, bringing Indigenous culture and creativity to students.
Her work as a designer and painter celebrates nature, beauty, and her Metis heritage, sharing culture through both education and art.
